1 min. readA recent report challenges common assumptions about Bitcoin ownership in the United States, revealing a diverse demographic and political spectrum among Bitcoiners. The Nakamoto Project's survey of 3,538 adults showed that Bitcoin ownership spans various political identities, with a skew towards the young and male. Interestingly, Bitcoin ownership is not significantly influenced by political orientation, as both liberals and conservatives own Bitcoin in similar proportions. The study identified key predictors of Bitcoin ownership, including knowledge about Bitcoin, belief in its utility, trust in the protocol, and perceived morality. These factors, rather than demographic or political factors, drive Bitcoin adoption. The findings emphasize the importance of education and positive perceptions in fostering Bitcoin ownership, highlighting that Bitcoiners are united by their knowledge and trust in the technology.
