Tokenized domain protocols like Unstoppable Domains and Namefi theorize that the attack resulted from the Google Domains to Squarespace migration, compromising user security. Security Alliance attributes the hack to a faulty migration process, allowing attackers to exploit Squarespace's email verification loophole. Experts recommend tokenizing domains on a blockchain network to enhance security measures, preventing phishing attacks and ensuring ownership control. Despite the benefits, Ethereum Name Service founder warns that tokenized domains do not guarantee complete security against provider vulnerabilities.
