1 min. readOkto, the self-custodial wallet of CoinDCX, an Indian crypto exchange, has officially obtained a license from the Ras Al Khaimah Digital Assets Oasis (RAK DAO) in the UAE. The license, secured on Aug. 27, allows Okto to operate legally in the country's dedicated free zone for digital assets. Claiming to be the first Web3 wallet to receive such a license, Okto is a multichain DeFi wallet owned by a subsidiary of DCX Global. The platform offers a keyless, self-custody wallet for managing digital assets. CoinDCX and Okto co-founder Neeraj Khandelwal expressed that the license will enhance community trust and accelerate Web3 adoption. The RAK DAO, established in 2023, is an economic free zone supporting innovative Web3 companies. CoinDCX's recent acquisition of BitOasis in the UAE further expands its presence in the region, with BitOasis operating independently under existing licenses.
