Maelstrom Fund Launches Bitcoin Grant Program for Developers

The program will provide developers with grants ranging from $50,000 to $150,000 annually, with a potential total of $250,000 per developer. This initiative aims to support Bitcoin open-source developers and enhance network development. Grantees are expected to contribute to Bitcoin's technical progress by working on the Bitcoin Core software project. Grants will be distributed in Bitcoin, Circle’s USDC, and Tether USDT over a 12-month period, with awards scheduled for the third or fourth quarter of 2024. The program deadline for grant applications is August 25. This initiative could foster innovation in Bitcoin-native decentralized finance (DeFi), known as BTCFi, by enhancing the utility of the Bitcoin network.
