Malaysia's Push for Ethical AI and Cloud Computing

Malaysia is ramping up efforts to promote ethical artificial intelligence (AI) use and enhance local cloud computing initiatives. Additionally, a national cloud computing policy is in the works to drive public service innovation, economic growth, and digital inclusion while prioritizing data security and user trust. The AI office aims to implement a five-year technology plan and regulatory framework to encourage ethical and sustainable AI adoption. Malaysia has also proposed regulations for Big Tech companies, including licensing requirements for social media platforms. Despite pushback from industry leaders, major tech firms like Google and Microsoft are investing in Malaysia's tech sector, with plans to create jobs and boost the local economy through AI and cloud services.
