1 min. readScammers and malicious actors are targeting players of the popular tap-to-earn game Hamster Kombat, aiming to profit from its viral success. Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky recently uncovered phishing attacks on users of the Telegram-based game. These attacks involve tricking players into actions that benefit the scammers. Once attackers obtain user credentials, they carry out successful attacks. The game, with 239 million users in just 81 days, has attracted cryptocurrency scammers offering fake airdrops to steal users' crypto wallet credentials. Despite the game's popularity and the HMSTR token gaining traction, scammers are creating fake websites to deceive users into fraudulent commission payments. This highlights the ongoing threat of hacks and phishing in the cryptocurrency industry, with billions of dollars lost to theft over the years. Vigilance is crucial to safeguard against such malicious activities in the crypto world.
