South Korea's National Pension Service Invests in MicroStrategy

The purchase of 24,500 shares for $33.75 million was disclosed in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on August 13. The National Pension Service, with assets exceeding $777 billion, is South Korea's primary investor. The filing also revealed investments in Coinbase, Roblox, and Jack Dorsey's Block. MicroStrategy, known for its Bitcoin acquisitions, saw a 92.5% stock increase in 2024, reaching over $150 for the first time in 24 years. The company's latest Bitcoin purchase brought its total holdings to 226,500 BTC, valued at approximately $13.19 billion. MicroStrategy now holds the most significant amount of Bitcoin among public companies, surpassing even Marathon Digital, the largest Bitcoin miner.
