1 min. readHyperbolic, a startup specializing in decentralized AI computing and inference services, has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round led by Variant and Polychain Capital. The funding round saw participation from various investors, including Lightspeed Faction, Bankless Ventures, and Wintermute Ventures, as well as angel investors Sreeram Kannan and Alex Atallah. This brings the company's total funding to $20 million, aiming to expand its presence in the growing AI and Web3 markets. Hyperbolic is developing a decentralized GPU marketplace and offering verifiable AI inference services to address the lack of accessible and affordable computing power for developers and researchers. Their platform allows GPU suppliers to monetize idle resources and offers renters up to 75% cost savings. With a focus on bridging Web2 and Web3, Hyperbolic plans to launch its own blockchain in 2025 for collective governance. Major players like Hugging Face and Quora already utilize Hyperbolic's services, and the company intends to use the funding to expand its teams and global AI platform.
