Venture Capital Firm Sigma Capital Launches $100M Fund for Web3 Startups in UAE

The fund will focus on early-stage Web3 companies, liquid tokens in decentralized finance, blockchain infrastructure, metaverse, gaming, and real-world asset tokenization markets. Additionally, fund-of-fund allocations will be utilized for portfolio diversification. The fund will be overseen by Vineet Budki, former CEO of Web3 venture firm Cypher Capital. The UAE's emergence as a blockchain hub was highlighted by Polygon founder Sandeep Nailwal, citing favorable policies and talent influx. The surge in crypto venture capital funding, reaching $13.6 billion in 2024, indicates a thriving market. Galaxy Research predicts a 50% increase in crypto VC activity by Q4 2025, with RWA tokenization as a key trend. HashKey Capital CEO Deng Chao also anticipates significant growth in RWA tokenization, potentially reaching $30 trillion in the next five years.
